DMC staff utilize company policies and standards set by the profession to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Hemodialysis¬†equipment capable of¬†hemodiafiltration technology (HDF)
  • Wide range of dialysis products and medical supplies
  • Heat disinfect water treatment technology
  • Blood volume, online clearance and plasma sodium level monitoring
  • Electronic health record system and e-health initiatives
  • Primary nursing accountable for a defined number of patients
  • Individualized and facility wide Continuous Quality Initiatives (CQI)
  • Strict adherence to infection control standards including admission criteria, restricted access and rigorous hand washing practices
  • Patient safety standards incorporating individual patient treatment cards with photo identification
  • Wheelchair accessible weigh scale with paper printout
  • Isolated air handling system for ventilation control
  • Liaison and data collection with organizations such as the Ontario Renal Network and College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario
